4 years in jail for youth after guilty plea in $3Million armed robbery case

After being on remand for several months over the alleged $3million armed robbery of a businessman in late 2017, a young Buxton resident opted today to no longer waste the Court’s time and pleaded guilty tot he armed robbery charge.

21-year-old, Shaquille Wilbert, made his first court appearance back in October 2017.

He has been on remand since then after the charge was read to him.

Throughout the man’s many previous Court appearances, he was unrepresented. Today, he told the Court that he is very sorry for his actions, as he entered a guilty plea.

The Magistrate did not waste any time after his plea to sentence him.

She considered time already spent behind bars, but jailed him for four years for the armed robbery.

It was in October last year that the youth held businessman Linden Wilson at gunpoint and relieved him of $ 3 million in cash.

The robbery was captured on CCTV security cameras and that aided in identifying the gunman.
