Albouystown man remanded to jail after allegedly found with unlicensed firearm

The Court heard that on December 1st, 2017 at Hill Street, Alboystown, the young man had one .38 revolver in his possession without being the holder of the relevant licence.

Albouystown resident, 34-Year-Old, David Austin, was today remanded to jail over an illegal gun that was allegedly found in his possession.

The accused stood before Principal Magistrate Judy Latchman without any representation and entered a plea of not guilty, after the charge was read to him.

The Court heard that on December 1st, 2017 at Hill Street, Alboystown, the young man had one .38 revolver in his possession without being the holder of the relevant licence.

He was stopped by Police and searched after he was spotted acting in a suspicious manner.

During his brief court appearance this morning, the man did not have much to say and was remanded to prison until December 11, 2017.
