COURT REPORT: Woman charged for attempted murder after dousing ex-boyfriend with acid

The Attorney representing the defendant told the court that his client went to the house to uplift some money, that she  reportedly left in a book but the two became involved in an argument and she was assaulted by the man, who then attempted to throw the same acidic substance on her.

A West Ruimveldt woman has found herself in hot water, after she allegedly doused her ex-boyfriend with acid, because he has a new woman in his life. 

24-Year-Old, Lisa Fraser, appeared before the Chief Magistrate, and was not required to enter a plea to the charge of attempted murder.

The charge stated that on 2nd September, at West Ruimvedlt, she unlawfully and maliciously wounded Kellon King, with the intent to commit murder.

Police Prosecutor, Arvin Moore stated that the two were in a common law relationship for several years, but when the relationship eventually ended. 

On the day in question, the accused went to the home of the ex-boyfriend and became upset after seeing another woman in the house in the man’s company.

She reportedly slapped the man several times because of the presence of the woman, then threw the acidic substance on him.

The ex-boyfriend is still hospitalised with severe burns about his body.

After listening to the arguments in the case, the Magistrate agreed to grant the woman bail in the sum of $150,000.

She will return to Court later this month.
