Two months after 46-year-old porter lost his life due to a speeding car that collided with him while he was standing on the roadside, the driver of that speeding motorcar was today charged.

The accused, Sadath Newark, appeared relaxed as he stood before Magistrate Judy Latchman and entered a plea of not guilty when the charge of causing death by dangerous driving was read to him.

Details of the charge stated that on the 6th February, at Kuru Kuru Drive, he drove motorcar PRR 378 in a manner that was dangerous to the public and that caused the death of Dexter Conway.

After the charge was read, the Magistrate announced that bail would be granted in the sum on $1.5 million. The accused was told to return to court on May 8th, when the case will be transferred to the Chief Magistrate.
