A 46-year-old Eccles man was today remanded to prison after being charged with possession of cocaine and marijuana.
The accused, Shawn Samuels, stood before a City Magistrate and denied ever being in possession of the illegal items.
The Court was told that on 31st July at Mawasie Landing, Samuels was nabbed with 55 grams of marijuana and 5 grams of cocaine.
The man’s Attorney, Paul Fug-A-Fat, told the Court, that his client was never found with the drugs but rather the illegal items were found at a workshop that his client stopped visiting months ago.
The Attorney claims that his client was picked up by the Police and taken to the shop where the illegal items were found.
But the Police Prosecutor explained to the Court that the drugs were found in the man’s possession, stashed in a Motorcycle.
Bail was refused and Samuels will make his next court appearance later this month.
