26-year-old Joseph Osborne aka "Cat", denied the allegation that on the 22nd September last year at Port Kaituma, he robbed Francisco DaSantos of a quantity of gold worth $30 million. 

Footballer remanded to jail over $3 million gold heist

A local footballer found himself on the offside of the Courtroom today as he was charged and remanded to jail on connection with a $3 million gold heist.

26-year-old Joseph Osborne aka “Cat”, denied the allegation that on the 22nd September last year at Port Kaituma, he robbed Francisco DaSantos of a quantity of gold worth $3 million.

The Court was told that violence was used during the robbery.

The Police Prosecutor made no objection to bail, but the Magistrate went ahead and refused bail. The footballer has been remanded to jail until the14th March when the case is expected to continue.
