According to relatives, just days before her death, the woman and her children moved out of the man's house. She was on her way to the Police early in the morning when she was reportedly grabbed by the man and forced into the house.

The Parika man who dodged law enforcement for a number of days after his reputed wife was found strangled to death, appeared in court today and was charged with the woman’s murder.

Magistrate Rochelle Liverpool remanded Ganesh Dhanraj to prison after the charge was read to him at the Leonora Magistrates’ Court. He was not required to enter a plea to the indictable charge.

The body of Dhanwantie Ram, was found motionless in the man’s house moments after he was seen forcing her into the house. The woman’s body was found with a sheet wrapped around the neck.

According to relatives, just days before her death, the woman and her children moved out of the man’s house. She was on her way to the Police early in the morning when she was reportedly grabbed by the man and forced into the house.

Persons in the area said the man was spotted running from the house just before the body was discovered.

He was caught by Police as attempted to run from a relative’s house this past weekend. He will make his next court appearance on June 5th.
