At the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court today, two young Police ranks found themselves facing larceny charges.
The two ranks, 23-year-old Tevin Headley and 24-year-old Delon Sobers, were charged with allegedly stealing $500,000 in cash from gold miner, Brian Hopkinson.
The Court was told that the incident occurred on the 11th October at Bartica. However, the Attorney representing the two Policemen said his clients are innocent of the charges and have been cooperating with the investigations. The Court was also told that the money was never found on the two men.
After listening to the initial facts of the matter, bail was granted and the two will make their next court appearance at a later date.
