$10 Million reward offered for information leading to arrest of remaining prison escapees

The Guyana Police Force today announced that a reward of $10 Million is offered by the Guyana Police Force for information leading to the arrest of the remaining four Prison Escapees.

The four escapees who are still on the run are Royden Williams, Uree Varswyck, Cobena Stephens and Paul Goriah.

Williams, Varswyck and Stephens escaped from the Camp Street prison four weeks ago.  Goriah dug his way out of the Lusignan Prison along with 12 other inmates, two weeks ago.  Eleven of those inmates have since been recaptured while the 12th was shot dead during a confrontation with lawmen.

Investigators suspect that Williams, Varswyck and Stephens may have been initially hiding out together, but have since gone their separate ways.  Varswyck is the escapee who prison officials have fingered in the shooting death of the prison officer during the jail break and fire at the Camp Street prison.

Relatives of the wanted men are being reminded that they could face up to three years in prison for harbouring a known fugitive.

Anyone with information that may lead to the recapture of these escapees, should contact the Police on telephone numbers 225-6411225-8196225-2227226-1389227-2128227-1149226-7065699-0869600-3019699-0867669-4606, 603-3261 or the nearest Police Station.

All information will be treated with strict confidentiality.
