A 14-year-old West Bank Demerara schoolboy was killed on Monday afternoon after he struck by a stray bullet.
According to detectives, teenager Ryan Persaud was standing on the Roadway in his village of Vive la Force when he was struck to the back by the bullet.
The young man collapsed and was rushed to the West Demerara hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police investigators are looking for a number of leads and are hoping that ballistic tests could lead them to the owner of the gun or the shooter.
