The Guyana Police Force is investigating the brutal murder of a 79-year-old, West Bank Demerara man who was found tied up and gagged in his Pouderoyen home.
The dead man has been identified as Claude Class of Samaroo Dam, Pouderoyen. His lifeless body was found early on Monday morning. According to a preliminary police report, the elderly man was found with his hands tied behind his back and his mouth gagged. His entire house was ransacked.
Police investigators believe the man may have been attacked by robbers who may have been caught off guard when they realised he was at home. An investigation has started and persons in the area are being questioned about any strange persons they may have seen in the neighbourhood.
