AFC offers up its LGE Candidates for Public Debates

"I am willing to subject my candidates or will instruct my candidates, all of my candidates, should anybody offer to host debates, public debates. And I think we can do it in constituencies and all of the candidates in that constituency can come up and be invited", he said.

AFC offers up its LGE Candidates for Public Debates

The Alliance For Change has indicated its readiness to have its candidates for the local government elections take part in public debates against the other candidates.

At a press conference this morning, AFC Local Government Elections Campaign Manager, David Patterson said the party wants the candidates to take part in public debates and has even been thinking of hosting the debates itself, but does not want to be accused of bias.

“I am willing to subject my candidates or will instruct my candidates, all of my candidates, should anybody offer to host debates, public debates. And I think we can do it in constituencies and all of the candidates in that constituency can come up and be invited”, he said.

This will be the first local government elections that the Alliance For Change will be heading into on its own. The party will be contesting the elections in 38 local authority areas.

According to party officials, it was hoping to contest in much more areas, but there were “issues” that arose that ruled that out.  The party claims that political bullying of would be candidates was one of those issues.

Still, the AFC is confident of doing well at the local government polls.
