Albouystown man executed in Charlestown drive by shooting

Police on Saturday night were investigating the execution style killing of 27 year old Albouystown resident, Lloyd Bourne aka Lloydie. The incident took place just after 9pm.

According to reports, Bourne of James and Barr Street, Albouystown,  was in the Cooper Street, Charlestown area when he was shot to the chest by the occupants of a speeding motor car that appeared to have been tracing his  moves. He was rushed to the Georgetown Hospital where Doctors pronounced him dead.

Shocked family members and friends gathered and said they are still trying to understand the drive by slaying. The man’s mother said she was at home when she received a call that her son had been shot. She said when she arrived at the Georgetown Hospital, he was already pronounced dead and his body was being prepared to be taken to the morgue. She was given his personal belongings.

One of the dead man’s friends said she was at home when she called his cellphone and was greeted with a strange voice asking whether she was a relative. The young lady said after  she told the person on the phone that she was a relative, they asked that she hurry down to the hospital because “Lloydie was shot”.

As his body was being taken to the morgue, friends could be heard expressing their concern for his young child who will be celebrating his first birthday in a few weeks. The child’s mother died just under a month ago from a cancer. They said Bourne was committed to doing his best to raise his young child and they are now all just devastated by his murder.
