A night of celebration ended tragically just after 2 o’ clock this morning when the driver of a motor car lost control and slammed into a utility police, claiming the life of a 25-year-old man.
Dead is Isaiah Corlette of Castello Housing Scheme, Georgeown. He was a passenger in the car being driven by one of his friends, when the friend lost control of the vehicle and slammed into a utility pole.
The name of the friend who was driving, has not yet been released. He remains in hospital in a critical condition.
Another passenger in the car, Akeisha Jones, of Leopold Street was also badly injured. She also remains hospitalised in a serious condition.
According to the Police report, the accident took place along the Lilliendaal Public road and the three were heading home after a night of partying in the Plaisance area.
The impact of the crash, according to witnesses, ejected all of the occupants out of the vehicle. They were all found on the roadway.
The matter is under investigation.
