Bail refused again for Maryann Daby, who is facing attempted murder and gun possession charges

The charges stemmed from an incident at the GMRSC ground in Thomas Lands, where it is alleged the young woman pointed a gun at a plain clothes Policeman and pulled the trigger, but it did not go off because she had allegedly already fired off several shots into the air.

Bail refused again for Maryann Daby, who is facing attempted murder and gun possession charges

Scores of Family members packed the Courtroom of the Chief Magistrate today as bail was denied a second time for the young woman who is facing attempted murder and gun possession charges.

Just over a week ago, the young Finance Manager, Maryann Daby, who is the daughter of businessman, Paul Daby, was charged with the attempted murder of a Police officer as well as illegal gun and ammunition possession.

The charges stemmed from an incident at the GMRSC ground in Thomas Lands, where it is alleged the young woman pointed a gun at a plain clothes Policeman and pulled the trigger, but it did not go off because she had allegedly already fired off several shots into the air.

Sources say the Policeman, Christopher Kissoon, claimed that his attention was drawn to gunshots at the venue and when he approached the area, he saw the young woman firing shots indiscriminately into the air. She then turned the gun on him and pulled the trigger as he attempted to intervene.

Daby reportedly hopped into her car and sped away from the scene. She was later arrested at her family’s home and charged.

She will return to Court later this month.
