Biker shot dead in front of Eccles home

Well known Biker, Kurt Davis was shot dead on Tuesday night outside his Eccles, East Bank Demerara home, sending shock waves throughout the community and leaving family members and friends stunned.

The young man who is believed to be 30 years old was shot multiple times to his body. Sources at the Georgetown Hospital explained that he may have been shot as many as 12 times to his upper body. Police investigators believe the shots were fired at close range by a lone gunman.

Persons in the Eccles area where the young man lived, reported hearing loud gunshots just after 9 o’ clock. Davis’ body was found lying just in front of his yard and he was still conscious while being rushed to the hospital. However, the emergency team at the Georgetown Hospital could not save his life.

“Kurt was not no bad man, I can’t understand who would do this and for what reason. This is just strange”, one of his friends remarked while standing outside the emergency room at the Georgetown Hospital.

Another friend said he had spoken to the young man just after 8 o’ clock and he seemed in fine spirits as he told the friend that he was heading home from the Linden Soesdyke Highway. Another friend said she was on the phone with the young man just moments before she received news that he  was murdered.

Scores of friends including his biker colleagues gathered at the Georgetown Hospital in disbelief as tears rolled down their eyes. Most of  his family members including his parents live in the United States. It is believed that he lived alone at his Eccles home. An investigation is underway.
