Two businessmen, one from Linden and another from Diamond, were taken into police on Wednesday after an unlicensed shotgun, three live cartridges and a small quantity of cannabis were found in their places of business, at Omai Landing, Region 8.

Police said the items were discovered during separate raids which were conducted early Wednesday morning.

Acting on information, police ranks in the area swooped down on a shop at Omai Landing and conducted a search during which the twelve gauge shotgun and three live cartridges were found.

The 59-year-old owner of Diamond Housing Scheme reportedly admitted to ownership of the firearm and ammunition and will appear in court soon.

Meanwhile, during another raid on a second shop in the area police found 29 grams of Cannabis in small zip-lock packages.

The 49-year-old owner who hails from One Mile, Wismar, Linden also reportedly claimed ownership of the illegal substance.

He too will appear in court shortly.
