Citizens chase down and arrest armed bandits after $500,000 robbery of market vendors

A police report stated that vendors Wayne Miller and Darmenna Wong were in the vicinity of Orange Walk and Robb Street, Bourda, when two (2) men, one of whom was armed with a handgun, approached them and robbed them of $500,000 in cash.

Two robbers are in police custody and awaiting criminal charges after they were apprehended by public spirited citizens just after they robbed two Bourda market vendors at gunpoint on Monday night.

A police report stated that vendors Wayne Miller and Darmenna Wong were in the vicinity of Orange Walk and Robb Street, Bourda, when two (2) men, one of whom was armed with a handgun, approached them and robbed them of $500,000 in cash.

The vendors raised an alarm in the busy 24hrs shopping area and the suspects were apprehended by public spirited citizens.

Police arrived on the scene moments later and recovered  a 9mm pistol with five (5) live matching rounds on one of the suspects.

The two men remain in custody.
