“Cuffy” sentenced to 35 years in jail for 2015 Granny murder

The case was heard by Justice Simone Morris-Ramlall, who handed down a 35 year jail sentence just after the man's guilty plea.

A drug addict, who is best known by the name ‘Cuffy’ will spend the next 35 years in jail for the gruesome murder of 68-year-old, Megan Jones-Cox.

The 39-year-old man, Stanley Barrow, was initially charged for murder, but then decided to plea guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter.

The case was heard by Justice Simone Morris-Ramlall, who handed down a 35 year jail sentence just after the man’s guilty plea.

It was back in 2015, that the man raped the 68-year-old woman, then beat her to death as she cried out for help.

The woman’s tongue was also cut out of her mouth by the then drug addict.

The woman was found on the side of the roadway at Vreed-en-hoop. A post mortem examination found that she had died from multiple injuries.

With the 35 year jail sentence, “Cuffy” will not be eligible for possible parole until after 25 years.
