The reputed wife of drug convict Barry Dataram was also using a false passport when she went on the run with him as their drug possession case neared an end in the Magistrates’ Court.

While Dataram was using a passport with a false name that was issued in back in 2013, his reputed wife Anjanie Boodnarine, was using a passport with a false name that was issued in January, 2016.

That passport was issued in the name of Christine Persaud.

Based on the January 15, 2016 issue date, it would appear that the passport was issued to the woman while she was on trial for drug possession in connection with the over 225 pounds of cocaine that was found in her husband’s house.

While Boodnarine and two other men were found not guilty of the cocaine possession charges, Dataram was found guilty and sentenced to 5 years in jail and fined $164 million in his absence. The Customs Anti Narcotics Unit has appealed the not guilty verdicts.

Dataram and Boodnarine were found hiding out in a house in neighbouring Suriname on Friday and handed over to Guyanese law enforcement at Moleson creek on Saturday morning.
