Police investigators are seeking the public’s help for any information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects in the stabbing death of a destitute man, which took place Sunday morning in the Kitty area.
According to a Police statement, 42-year-old Sunil Singh aka “Grey”, was beaten and stabbed to death by three men after he came to the rescue of a bartender attached to the Blue Martini nightclub in the wee hours of Sunday morning.
Reports state that the three men were attempting to get into the club after it had already closed its operations for the night.
When the bartender blocked them from entering, one of the men stabbed him to his left arm.
The destitute man, Sunil Singh, who would hang around the club to do odd jobs, decided to intervene in an effort to bring peace. Instead of ending the row, the men turned their wrath on him and pounced on him.
He ran from the scene, but the men chased after him and stabbed him repeatedly at the Railway Embankment in Kitty.
He was rushed to the Georgetown Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
The injured bartender has since been treated and now there are efforts to locate the three men. Investigations are ongoing this.
