A man from Enterprise on the East Coast of Demerara was today granted $200,000 bail on a multi million dollar fraud charge that is linked to an ongoing murder case before the Court.

36-year-old, Richard Aulder was today charged with allegedly obtaining $5 Million from a woman whose husband is facing a murder charge in the Court, under the pretense that he could have gotten the case against the man dismissed.

It’s unclear how that was going to be done.

It is alleged that Aulder defrauded Nicola Duggan of the money after he claimed that he was in a position to get the case against her husband, businessman Robert Benn dismissed.

Businessman, Robert Benn is behind bars and facing trial for the murder of a young man that took place two years ago, when he opened fire on the man’s car as the man turned around on the bridge of the businessman’s Tucville home.

The Attorney representing the alleged fraudster told the Court that he is confused as to why the alleged victim, Nicola Duggan, is not facing the Courts since the case appears to be some sort of conspiracy.

After listening to the facts of the case, the Magistrate granted bail to the accused in the sum of $200,000 and he was ordered to return to Court in the new month.
