A 17-year-old male is among four persons who have confessed to last week’s triple murder in the Black Bush Polder, Berbice Back-lands, Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum has confirmed.

The Crime Chief told News Source on Thursday that the police has four persons in custody, including a farmer, his wife and his 17-year-old son.

The fourth person is an employee of the family and the police is looking for a fifth suspect.

“They are cooperating and they have each given detailed statements as to role they played in the murder,” the Crime Chief said.

News Source understands that the 17-year-old man was the person that shot the three family members once to their heads.

Detectives returned to the area today with the suspects while a case file is being prepared to be sent to the Director of Public Prosecution.

The suspects are expected to be charged early in the new week.

Three members of a family, including a 15-year-old boy were murdered in the backlands of the community last Friday where they had gone on a fishing trip.

The dead men were known to the suspects.

According to reports, the family and the employee were stealing fuel from another area in the area and were seen by the men.

When confronted they panicked and assumed that it would be best to eliminate the trio.

The police confirmed that each of the bodies bore a single gunshot wound to the head.

The three dead persons have been identified as 37-year-old Suresh Chandradeo, his 15-year-old son Jaikarran Chandradeo and his 35-year-old brother-in-law, Naresh Rooplall.
