A female soldier of the Guyana Defence Force has been taken into custody as investigators continue their probe of the murder of Agricola resident Donna Taylor. The woman soldier is believed to be the girlfriend of the dead woman’s son.
According to police sources, the female rank of the GDF was arrested on Saturday as investigations continued their probe into the brutal Friday night murder of 55-year-old Donna Taylor. The woman was found dead in the house and an overseas based friend who was visiting, was found unconscious in the yard.
At first investigators suspected that robbery may have been the motive for the attack but after questioning the woman who was found unconscious in the yard, the story and sequence of events became clearer.
News Source understands that the visiting friend may have been the real target since the female soldier suspected the woman of being involved with her boyfriend. There are reports that the female soldier first attacked the house guest who was forced to jump from the veranda of the house to save herself.
Investigators believe that the mother in law, Donna Taylor may have gotten involved and the attacker turned her attention on her and slit her throat.
Up to late Saturday afternoon, the female soldier was still be grilled about the incident according to law enforcement sources.
