Fmr. Personal Assistant surrenders to police; Declares innocence

The former personal assistant to the junior Agriculture Minister, surrendered to police on Wednesday which was just one day after a wanted bulletin was issued for his arrest.

The man, Kenroy Joseph was accompanied by his Attorney James Bond.

Joseph has been fingered as an accomplice in a drug trafficking effort which was busted last Friday. Two persons were busted at the airport with over 40 pounds of cocaine. Police investigators said the two persons had access to the ViP lounge at the airport and they are convinced that it was Joseph who provided bogus documents to the airport to facilitate that access.

According to investigators, although Joseph no longer worked for the Agriculture Ministry, he still carried out protocol duties with bogus documents. There are also reports that a number of other persons gained access to the same ViP lounge as a result of documents that were provided to the airport by the former personal assistant.

Through his attorney, Joseph has denied any wrongdoing or involvement in the matter.
