Four Guyanese charged in Grenada cocaine bust

The operation which took place in the early hours on Monday on a hotel in the south of the island and a building in the village of Tempe simultaneously was the culmination of months of high level investigation into what the lawmen believed was a brewing covert drug operation taking place on the island.

(Grenada Informer)  Four Guyanese nationals have been netted in a major drug operation carried out by officers attached to Drug Squad of the Royal Grenada Police Force, resulting in the seizure of a quantity of cocaine, ammunition and firearms.

 According to information reaching the Grenada Informer the operation which took place in the early hours on Monday on a hotel in the south of the island and a building in the village of Tempe simultaneously was the culmination of months of high level investigation into what the lawmen believed was a brewing covert drug operation taking place on the island.

In-fact our investigation revealed that the building raided in Tempe was branded “The factory” where it is believed most of the drug used in that operation would pass through at some stage.

Meanwhile a release from the Community Relations Department of the RGPF on Monday said the men arrested were Colin Hooper 34, Osafi Bobb 21, Mahendranauth Daff 34 and David Frank 50, all four men according to the report have been charges with trafficking a controlled drug and illegal possession of a firearms and ammunition.

 All four are legally represented by defense counsel Peter David and made their first appearance before Chief Magistrate Tamera Gill on Thursday.

Two Grenadian women have also been charged in connection with the same case.
