Grey Boy freed once again of Courtney Crum-Ewing’s murder charge

After more than two years and the same charge being instituted against him twice, 42-year-old Reagan Rodrigues aka “Grey Boy” walked out of the Georgetown Magistrates Court freed of the Courtney Crum-Ewing murder charge once again.

This afternoon, Magistrate Judy Latchman ruled that a case had not been made out against the man to allow for a trial.

In her ruling, the Magistrate stated that although 14 statements were provided in connection with a gun that is believed to have been used in the murder, none of those statements implicated Rodrigues as the trigger man or being responsible for the murder.

Rodrigues was first charged back in 2015 for the murder of political activist, Courtney Crum-Ewing. He had always maintained his innocence.

He was first set free of the murder charge back in January, after another Magistrate ruled that a case had not been made out against him. Just recently, he was rearrested and the murder charge instituted against him once again, even as he maintained his innocence.

Following the decision by the Magistrate today, the former accused sat quietly in the courtroom and cried.

Activist Courtney, Crum-Ewing was shot dead as he used a loud hailer back in 2015 to encourage residents of Diamond to vote the PPP out of office. He received at least five gunshots.  The murder sent shockwaves across the country as news of the activist’s death made headlines around the world.

The investigation remains active.
