A Jamaican national who has been fingered in the death of well-known East Coast resident, Manu Durant, has been arrested and is being questioned by the police.

The man was arrested over the weekend in the bordering region of Eteringbang in the Essequibo region. It is believed that he was attempting to cross over into neighbouring Venezuela.

Durant was shot dead last Thursday morning in the Baroombar strip club after he reportedly whipped out his firearm and fired a shot at the Jamaican man who worked at the business place in the security department.

The bullet narrowly missed the man who then whipped out his own weapon and shot Durant to the chest.

The weapon has not been recovered but police investigators are convinced it may have been an illegal firearm.
