At the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court this morning, a 42-year-old man from Station Street, Kitty cried uncontrollably as he was charged and remanded to prison for allegedly engaging in sexual activity with a girl below the age of 16.

The incident is alleged to have occurred on Monday, November 5.

The accused, Odinga Greene,  was charged under the sexual offenses act for having sexual activity with a child below the age of 16.

While members of the media were not allowed in Court for the hearing, the accused emerged from the courthouse in tears, claiming that he would never do anything to harm the young girl, who he claimed he would only assist by giving her money.

The matter remains under investigation but the accused was remanded to jail and will be expected back in Court later this month for the continuation of the case.
