A Lamaha Springs beautician will appear in court early this week to face drug trafficking charges. The woman believed to be in her 20’s was busted on Friday while heading to the airport.

According to reports, agents from the Customs Anti Narcotics Unit acted on a tip and intercepted the car that the woman was in and carried out a search of her bags.

The search revealed over 25 pounds of cocaine stashed in milk tins.

The bust took place along the Timehri road just after the Linden/Soesdyke junction. She was taken back to Georgetown and placed in custody.

News Source understands that she was preparing to board a New York bound flight when the bust occurred.

The Customs Anti Narcotics Unit has been stepping up its monitoring of passengers leaving the country as more and more persons attempt to take cocaine out.
