A Linden resident, who worked and lived in Trinidad until recently, is expected to face the Courts in Guyana after he was busted at the Cheddi Jagan Airport with over four pounds of cocaine in his suitcase.
The man was reportedly preparing to board a New York bound flight when the cocaine was discovered stashed in the false bottom of his suitcase.
According to a statement from the Police, the bust was made by agents of the Police Narcotics Division just after 4:30 on Monday afternoon.
The 31-year-old man, who sources have confirmed, has been identified as Travis Mendonca, was reportedly only granted a US visa recently.
He gave his address as Ozone Park, Queens New York and Kara Kara, Linden.
He is expected to make his first court appearance before the end of this week.
An investigation has been launched, in an effort to arrest others who might be connected to the cocaine trafficking attempt.
