According to reports, the driver did not immediately stop but was later arrested and was tested positive for being above the legal alcohol limit.

A 17-year-old sixth form student of the Mackenzie High School in Linden, was killed early this morning when he was hit down by a speeding drunk driver.

The incident took place around 4 o’ clock Saturday morning. Dead is Denelsion Rose of Noitgedacht, Linden.

The teenager was reportedly walking home along the Washerpond Road when he was hit down and his body dragged for several yards. His mangled body with a split open skull was found along the roadway.

According to reports, the driver who has been identified as a Police Lance Corporal, did not immediately stop but was later arrested at his home and was tested positive for being above the legal alcohol limit.

The police investigators were able to track the man down at his Wisroc home after viewing surveillance video from the Mackenzie Wismar bridge.

Police in Linden said the driver remains in custody and charges are expected to be laid against him in the new week. He was driving a motor car which carried the license plate number PRR 6503.

The death of the young man has left the entire community in shock, especially among his school friends and relatives.

He is being remembered by his friends as a smart, fun loving and caring person.
