Man arrested at Regent St. bank after demanding $10 Million in name of ISIS

According to a senior Law Enforcement official, it was just after 9 o' clock on Tuesday morning that the man walked into the bank and told a manager that he belonged to the Islamic State, ISIS and would blow the bank up if he was not given $10 Million.

A man believed to be of unsound mind, is being monitored this evening as he remains in police custody after attempting to rob the Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry, Regent Street branch by claiming that he had a bomb and belonged to the terrorist group, ISIS.

According to a senior Law Enforcement official, it was just after 9 o’ clock on Tuesday morning that the man walked into the bank and told a manager that he belonged to the Islamic State, ISIS and would blow the bank up if he was not given $10 Million.

Security at the bank moved swiftly and apprehended the man who was found with nothing more than a knife in his bag.  The Police was immediately called in and he was taken in to custody.

Many of the bank’s employees only became aware of the man’s threats and demand after the police arrived.

An investigation has been launched.
