Police on Monday evening were trying to figure out the identity of a man whose headless body and then his head were found in two different parts of the city.

Investigators were called to the Cummings Lodge cemetery on the East Coast of Demerara just before 3 o’ clock Monday afternoon after workers who were clearing out the cemetery made the gruesome discovery of the headless body.

The head was found a short distance away tied up in a black plastic bag. There are also reports that dogs may have already started to eat the body. Some body parts and bones were also found close to where the headless body was found.

Police sources have said that the body was already in a decomposed state and investigators are trying to figure out if it was someone who was recently killed or whether it may have been a dead body removed from a tomb and dismembered for evil purposes.
