The man, Troy Webster, was charged with fraudulently collecting money from six women, as a registration fee, so that he could match them with jobs at different companies.

The Court heard that on the 17th, 18th, 19th, and 21st, August, he obtained $7000 each from Tamara Summerset, Kenisha Boyce, Aniesha James, Lisa Prince , Marrisa William and Nickisha Haynes, while pretending that he was in position to hire the six women.

He collected the sum of money along with copies of the women’s ID Cards and promised that he would contact them to work in his stores at the Giftland Mall. He has no stores at the Giftland Mall.

After not hearing about their new employment, the women became worried and contacted the Police. Webster was arrested and charged for the offence.

The convict is said to be a known fraudster. He had brushes with the law in 2015 for a similar offence and was sentenced back then to three years in jail

Before handing down the sentence, the Magistrate told the man he did not learn from his previous time spent behind bars. In the sane breathe, she sentence the convict to 18 months behind bars on each charge.
