“Panta” wanted in connection with airport drug bust

Police investigators attached to the Narcotics Branch of the Guyana Police Force are searching for a 52-year-old, West Coast Demerara man who is suspected to have been involved in a recent attempt to traffic cocaine out of the Cheddi Jagan Airport.

A wanted bulletin has been issued for Mohamed Imrazie Alli aka “Panta” of Lot 11, La Jalousie, West Coast Demerara.

In a statement, the Police Force said that “Panta” is wanted in connection with a June 8, 2016 drug bust at the Cheddi Jagan Airport.

The man is suspected to be involved in the fishing industry.  A quantity of cocaine was found in a shipment of fish that was being prepared for export through the Cheddi Jagan airport.

Two persons have since been charged in connection with the same bust. A number of other persons were questioned and released.

The Police Force is asking that anyone with information about the whereabouts of Mohamed Imrazie Alli, make contact with the nearest police station.
