Ex-phantom gang member, Lloyd Roberts aka Robbie, is among the three persons held by the Police for the AK-47 rifle, 9mm handgun and ammunition bust in the Campbellville area.

Senior Police officials have confirmed to News Source that Roberts, who is known to law enforcement, was one of the three men found in the house with the illegal weapons.

The three men remain in custody and are to face charges soon.

Just recently, Roberts was questioned in connection with the shooting death of a young man outside of the Rio Nightclub. He has also been fingered in a number of other murder cases and other gun crimes.

Back in 2010, he was charged with a double murder but was set free after the Prosecution failed to produce enough evidence that could tie him to the murders.

On Sunday evening, Police investigators surrounded and carried out a detailed search of a house at Lot 81 John Street, Campbellville.

The search unearthed an AK-47 high power rifle along with a 9mm handgun and over 70 rounds of ammunition.  Two cars were also seized from the property which was being rented from its overseas based owner, through a local real estate agency.

A relative of the owner explained that the real estate agents had told the owner that the property was being rented to a couple. However, only the three men and other persons were seen frequenting the property.

Their movements became suspicious and concerned persons in the area reportedly raised their suspicions with the Police.

Deputy Commander for A Division, Senior Superintendent Calvin Brutas, led the early evening operation. He told News Source that the search was launched based on information received by the Police.  The three men were at the property when the crime scene investigators swept down on the house with sniffer dogs early Sunday evening.
