Police arrest “nothing down, pay later” hitman in Herstelling murder

Police investigators have been able to track down and arrest the man who is alleged to have murdered the Herstelling block maker and carpenter, Nathan Persaud.

The hitman was arrested on Tuesday evening as the police widened their investigation into the gruesome murder. The carpenter’s wife, Beverly Persaud, was charged on Monday for the murder after she reportedly confessed to hiring the hitman.

According to the police, the 21-year-old hitman lives in the East Ruimveldt area and investigators were able to track him down based on information from the wife and other relatives and neighbours.

After being arrested, the hitman who has been identified as Oswald Yaw, told investigators that he is yet to be paid for carrying out the murder.

He reportedly told investigators that he carried out the beating death of the businessman on a credit arrangement and would have been paid over the coming months by the wife.

The woman reportedly negotiated to pay the man just under $2 Million for murdering her husband over a property and a piece of land that was part of a family dispute.
