The prime suspect in the murder of 14-year-old, Malika Hamilton, has been arrested. According to a police statement, the man was found by police officers hiding in a barrel in the Ann’s Grove Cemetery.
He has been identified as Alvin Reid aka Satan. A wanted bulletin was issued for his arrest just after a post mortem examination revealed that the teen had been murdered.
The arrest was made early on Thursday morning as the Police continued their investigations into the brutal murder of the Hope, East Coast Demerara teen.
Reid appeared on the HGP Nightly News on Tuesday night and denied any involvement in the teen’s death. He claimed that he saw her on the same night that she was reported missing but that was before her whereabouts were unknown.
Persons swimming in the canal made the discovery of the body and it sent shockwaves throughout the closely knitted community.
The 14-year old was found dead just one day after she barged out of her Hope, East Coast Demerara home following a telephone argument with her father.
