A Security Guard was chopped to death on Wednesday night when he came face to face with suspected bandits at his work site. The incident occurred around 11:45pm and resulted in the death of 53-year-old Sattaur Kadeer of Foulis, East Coast Demerara.

Kadeer was on duty at the Best Buy Hardware Store at Bladen Hall when he challenged two men who had entered the compound from the back, police said. During this, he was attacked by the men who dealt him several chops about his body with a cutlasses and escaped.

Kadeer was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Investigations are in progress.
