Several injured in East Bank Demerara accident

Several passengers were rushed to the Georgetown Hospital on Sunday night after the mini bus they were traveling in was involved in a serious accident at Agricola on the East Bank of Demerara.

Initial reports indicate that the route 45 mini bus was returning to the city with a number of friends who had spent the afternoon at a creek on the Linden Highway when tragedy struck. The bus apparently jammed another and slammed into a fence.

The impact of the accident reportedly sent pitched a number of passengers from the bus and onto the roadway. Some of the passengers who were badly injured are nursing broken bones.

A probe is underway.
