Police investigators were called to C’ Field, Sophia last evening following the shooting death of a bread vendor during an armed robbery.

Dead is 42-year-old, Andre Alexander.

According to reports, the bread vendor was approached by two men on a motorcycle who ordered two loaves of bread and paid with a $5000 bill.  As Alexander turned around to pick up the bread and make change for their money, the men demanded that he hand over all of his money.

When he refused, he was shot to the chest in the region of his heart. The two men then sped away on the motorcycle while firing additional shots in the air.

The incident took place around 8:30 pm and the vendor’s wife and a young child reportedly witnessed the killing.

Investigations are ongoing.
