Suspected love triangle lands three in Court on assault charges

Two men and a woman found themselves before the Court today in a love triangle assault case.

A fight broke out between the three on Thursday afternoon at the Kingston seawalls after the woman was reportedly caught by her reputed husband in the company of the other man.

The reputed husband Lorel Gill, the reputed wife, Talicia Dazzle and the man at the centre of the firestorm, Seon Meredith all found themselves facing a City Magistrate.

Gill explained to the Court that he has been with the woman for over six years and on the day in question, he was at the seawalls when noticed the woman in the passenger seat of the car in the company of the younger man. The three got into a row and a fight started.

But the other man, Seon Meredith, told the Court that he and the woman are friends and on the day of the incident, he was simply accompanying her to the seawall area to relax and allow her to “ease her head” over problems she was facing.

He said while there, the other man drove up and attacked them with a knife as he tried to force his way into the car.

He  told the Court that this was not the first time that the man had attacked him for being friends with his reputed wife.

The woman was charged after she reportedly punched her reputed husband to the face repeatedly as he tried to attack her and her friend.

The Court also heard that during the fist flying chaos, the “friend”, fired some punches of his own.   All three were granted bail and will return to Court later this month.
