A teacher and six of her students were killed on Friday afternoon when the car they were travelling in plunged into a canal at Mahaicony in Region Five.
Officials of the region have confirmed the accident to News Source. The group was reportedly heading back home from a day of Mashramani activities.
The teacher has been identified as Shondell Thomas. The names of the students have not been released. According to reports out of the Region 5 area, the accident occurred in the Burma Branch road area.
Many persons who witnessed the accident rushed to assist the victims.
