Toronto subway stabber is Guyanese national…faces murder charge after victim dies

A 40-year-old woman who brutally stabbed another woman in a Toronto train station, resulting in her death, has been identified as a Guyanese national and Canadian authorities also believe that the victim was also a Guyana national.

Toronto resident, Rohinie Bisesar was arrested on Tuesday after wanted bulletins were issued for her throughout Canada after she was caught on camera just after stabbing a woman in the path station.

Police believe the incident was unprovoked and Bisesar may not have even known the victim. The act appeared to be a random one.

The victim has been identified as 28-year-old Rosemarie Junor.

The incident occurred on Friday December 11 in a drug store located in the underground path station in Toronto’s Financial District.

Junor was hospitalized for a number of days but Toronto media houses are reporting that she succumbed to her injuries this morning, two days after police arrested  and charged the suspect.

The 40-year-old assailant was taken into custody on Tuesday afternoon and charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and carrying a concealed weapon.

With the death of the victim, she is now expected to face murder charges.

Friends and colleagues of the assailant have expressed shock over the incident and said they have been left at a loss over any possible motive for the attack.

She has been living in Canada for a number of years and worked in the financial district after completing her tertiary education at York University.

One friend was quoted in the Canadian press as saying that she recently turned down a job offer with a gold company in her native Guyana.

Her next court appearance is expected to be within a few days.
