Two acres of marijuana plants destroyed at Kairuni farm
 The Guyana Police  Force continues its efforts to fight marijuana cultivation and on the Saturday, Police investigators from the Narcotics Branch carried out a drug eradication operation at Kairuni along the Linden Soesdyke Highway and destroyed over 2 acres of marijuana plants.
According to a Police Force statement, a field of about two acres in size was found with approximately 10,000 cannabis sativa (marijuana) plants, about one foot in height, under cultivation along with a nursery with seedlings and an abandoned camp.
All of the marijuana plants were destroyed.
Two men have been arrested and are in police custody assisting with the investigations.
