Two Police Constables who are attached to the Turkeyen Police station have been placed under close arrest as an investigation has started into an allegation of rape against the two men.
Commander of C’ Division, Calvin Brutus, told News Source this morning that the allegations were made against the two Constables by a woman who had visited the station to file a report on an issue in the community.
The incident is alleged to have occurred just after 1 o’ clock on January 1 at the Turkeyen Station. According to the complaint, the woman claims that while filing a report at the station, she made a request to use the washroom. She was led to the washroom by one of the Constables.
It is further alleged that the Constable who led the woman to the washroom was joined by another Constable and the two allegedly held the woman down and sexually assaulted her.
Senior Superintendent Brutus said the Force is taking the allegations seriously and is conducting a full probe.
He said a report on the investigations should be completed soon.
