Two East Coast men charged and remanded for brutal murder of 13-year-old boy

Twenty-year-old Kevin Sahoy and 27-year-old Raymond Wong both of Agriculture Road, East Coast Demerara, were not required to enter a plea to the indictable charge of murder when they appeared before Magistrate Zamilla Ally-Seepaul.

Two East Coast men charged and remanded for brutal murder of 13-year-old boy

Two men were on Friday remanded to prison for last Sunday’s murder of 13-year-old Daveand Sanchar at Plantain Walk Triumph, East Coast Demerara.

Twenty-year-old Kevin Sahoy and 27-year-old Raymond Wong both of Agriculture Road, East Coast Demerara, were not required to enter a plea to the indictable charge of murder when they appeared before Magistrate Zamilla Ally-Seepaul.

The police prosecutor told the court that on the day in question, the deceased and the two accused were at a weeding house in the area when the teenager became annoyed at Sahoy because he was dancing with his aunt.

The 13-year-old left the wedding house and when he returned, he got into an argument with the men.

It is alleged that Kevin Sahoy lashed the teen to his head with a piece of wood.

The young man fell to the ground and it was Raymond Wong who then chopped the teenager to his head with a cutlass.

Sahoy, a mason and Wong an electrician, were instructed to return to the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court on September 13, for disclosure of statements.

The incident sent shockwaves throughout the country because of the brutality involved int he incident.
