The Guyana Police Force is continuing its crackdown on the sale of ecstasy pills.

Today, a 22-year-old woman was charged after she was allegedly caught red-handed selling the ecstasy pills to school children.

The woman was nabbed during a stake out and undercover exercise by lawmen.

According to the Court documents, on the 8th December, the accused, Tamara Accra, was observed in the Croal Street area in downtown Georgetown, interacting with secondary school children.

She was spotted selling something to the children and when approached by the undercover ranks, it was realised that the woman had several ecstasy pills in her possession that she was allegedly selling to the students.

She was immediately arrested.

In Court today, the young woman appeared with an Attorney at her side and pleaded not guilty to the charge of being in possession of the ecstasy pills.

The accused was granted bail in the sum of $50,000 and ordered to return to Court in the new month.
