Alpha United defeated Slingerz FC 1-0 to be crowned Champions of the 2013 Mayor’s Cup Football Tournament. Nick named the ‘Hammer’ Alpha United got the go-ahead goal 10 minutes into the game compliments of Gregory Richardson.

With the win, Alpha United will pocket the first place prize of $1M while Slingerz FC will have to settle for half that amount. The Guyana Defence Force finished third and received $300,000
